Server Administration:: Finding Failed Login Attempts In Database? Aug 24, 2010. How can I find out the number of login attempts made by a user in the database and the timings of the attempt. Hi Guys, When I try to login as SYS, oracle complains that I should connect as SYSDBA or SYSOPER. Now I enter the login user as SYSDBA and enter the password.it fails. However, if I login as user scott and password tiger, I can login.

Noting that you are new to
Oracle
, I'd advise you cross check your installation steps first to make sure you didn't miss anything since you can't find orapwORCL.ora
file. Then you can set your environmental variables again and try
